Despite Recent Weather, Blackpool and Chellaston are Making Good Progress
Posted on January 01, 2011
Construction works are proceeding well on the combined primary care, leisure and library development, North Shore, Blackpool and are on target for completion in Spring 2011.
The development has been designed to ensure there is maximum synergy between health and leisure with a common goal for providing a high quality community facility. The existing swimming pool will incorporate fully refurbished changing facilities, new dry sports hall, fully fitted gym and multi-purpose activity room with purpose built changing facilities. In addition to this, a new library to replace the nearby Bispham library will also be provided. A shared atrium entrance connects these facilities to the new Primary Care Centre. The Primary Care Centre will be home to three GP Practices together with a host of additional services including a minor operations suite.
The existing park will also be undergoing a complete makeover with lots of new planting, footpaths, a children’s playground and a multi use games area.
LSP also continues to make good progress with our scheme on site in the Midlands; the procurement of a new state of the art health facility to reprovide the existing Hightrees Practice in Chellaston, which is no longer fit for purpose. Works commenced on-site in August 2010 and the facility is expected to be open to patients in spring 2011.
