Posted on June 24, 2013
Brierley Park Medical Centre in Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire was officially opened on 22nd June 2013 by local MP for Ashfield, Gloria de Piero.
The new Medical Centre was designed to the very exacting requirements of the GP Practice centered on their community approach to delivering high quality health care to the local population. On opening the new building, Gloria De Piero MP said “In the past I’ve often had to raise concerns about the provision of health care in Ashfield but this event was a real cause for celebration with local residents really welcoming the new service.”
The opening ceremony certainly reflected the importance of the patients and local population by inviting many local residents, patients and community groups such as churches, religious organisations, schools and the scouts.
Senior partner Dr Hilary Lovelock said: “We have always strived to provide our patients with high-quality care so this new facility will help us to continue to provide that service in a modern, comfortable and fit-for-purpose facility our community deserves.
LSP Developments were chosen by the practice to procure their new premises back in 2011 and quickly set about working closely with them to ensure their meticulous aspirations were met. This included visiting a number of other recently completed Medical Centres and surgeries around the country.
LSP’s architects, Marchini Curran soon set about a meticulous design process to meet the partners’ requirements and as Dr Hilary Lovelock said at the opening “the feedback we’ve had so far has been amazing – patients have commented that it feels like walking into a hotel with its spacious reception and waiting area and calm atmosphere.”
The purpose-built Medical Centre includes a full range of primary care services together with a minor surgery unit, an IT based information centre and importantly the inclusion of expansion space to ensure the building does not become outgrown.
